I lost 18 eggs. Tree Swallows built over a couple of nests. I took down 6 boxes and put up new boxes with a slanted longer roof. Hopefully this well keep any animals out. Lower Bluebird Use Own

Wren all ready had a nest a ways from the BB. Finally the BB gave up and moved away. How to get rid of house wrens. We finally took down all the wren houses that were on the trees. We heard them in the neibors yard-singing like mad. We have some trouble with house sparrows too. Higher BlueBird Use Own

All turned out fine. Also I recently had a mouse nest in one of the houses. The nest was never fully finished during the second nesting. It was only 1/2 the size of a normal nest. There were 5 eggs laid but only 3 fertilized. No opinion Own

I had a chickadee nest in late May. When the tree swallows arrived they took over the chickadee nest even though I had another (paired) nest box next to it. The chickadees went to the empty box and renested. Then the bluebirds arrived and took over tha Has anyone had the need to put three nest boxes(trio)up? Has it worked? 10/02/2009 Bryan Braun 72 Duncan Phyfe Lane Slingerlands NY 12159 karnbry@hotmail.com Albany 23 34 25 0 5 0 One word, sparrows. I removed 43 sparrow eggs or young. They killed 4 bluebirds, 8 bluebird eggs disappeared and they killed 4 swallows. A second problem was all the rain early in the season. Regarding question 7, if you view paired boxes as a single nesting site, the utilization of "nesting sites" is higher. However if you view each box as a nest site the utilization is lower. In other words, box utilization would be higher by BB's if each No opinion Route 20
